Steve Tasses

Steve Tasses, owner of the restaurant Egglinton Grill, fully supports bikeways on Keele Street and Weston Road! Steve understands that bikeways on Keele Street and Weston Road will be good for local businesses and increase road safety for cyclists.

Born and raised in Toronto, Steve is a husband, father and 35-year business owner. He is a well-known figure in the local community, and his restaurant is a place where community members of various social and economic backgrounds can eat tasty food, unwind, say ‘hi’ to eachother, and most likely hear a few good jokes from Steve (he knows everyone by name!).

Steve regularly hits the workout bench and chin-up bar in the basement of the restaurant. A powerful message of encouragement from his daughter is written on a whiteboard down there, and its walls are decorated with many pictures of his son, wife and parents, as well as community events and other special moments.

Steve appreciates how cycling is a good form of exercise and an affordable means of transport. He sees cycling in the city as the way of the future, and understands that a grid of safe cycling infrastructure in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) will help get us there.
